โšก๏ธ Overview

No setup required- LeadTruffle automatically tracks attribution data for you. As long as youโ€™ve installed one of our supported widgets (Chat Widget, Pop-Up, or the JavaScript Lead Form), all lead source and page context data will be captured automatically.

This includes ad click IDs (like gclid and fbclid), UTMs, submission page URLs, and referrers. Everything is viewable inside LeadTruffle and easy to send to your CRM or other tools via Zapier or API.

๐Ÿงฉ Widgets That Support Tracking

LeadTruffle has three types of lead capture widgets:

  1. Chat Widget โ€“ Corner popup that initiates a live AI conversation

  2. Pop-Up Widget โ€“ Timed, scroll-based, or exit-intent modal

  3. Lead Form Widget:

    • JavaScript version โ€“ Includes full tracking support

    • Iframe version (legacy) โ€“ Does not support tracking

For best results, use the JavaScript version of the Lead Form.

๐Ÿ“Š What Tracking Data We Capture

Ad Platform Tracking

When a lead submits their information, we automatically capture available tracking data from major ad platforms. This includes:

  1. Google Ads: gclid, utm_source, utm_medium, etc.

  2. Facebook Ads: fbclid

  3. Microsoft Ads: msclkid

  4. TikTok Ads: ttclid

  5. Snapchat Ads: snapcid

Page Context

LeadTruffle also logs:

  • Page Title โ€“ The page where the submission occurred

  • Submission URL โ€“ Includes full UTM parameters

  • Referrer URL โ€“ Where the visitor came from before landing on your site

This gives you end-to-end visibility into both the traffic source and the submission location.

๐Ÿ” Where to View Attribution Data in LeadTruffle

You can view all this attribution and page context data in two main areas of the platform:

1. Dashboard

  1. On the Dashboard, you can see a full breakdown of your leads by Lead Source

2. Conversations / Inbox

  1. Go to the Inbox tab and open a conversation.

  2. On the right-hand panel, youโ€™ll see lead metadata:

    • Lead Status

    • Source (e.g., Chat Widget, Missed Call, Pop-Up)

    • Referrer info (e.g., Google, Facebook)

  3. Click the metadata to open a pop-up that displays detailed attribution:

    • Click ID

    • Submission URL

    • Page Title

    • Referrer URL

3. Leads Tab

  1. Navigate to the Leads tab.

  2. Click on the Details button on a Lead

  3. Expand the Attribution & Tracking dropdown to see:

    • Ad platform tracking IDs

    • Submission page data

    • UTM parameters and referrer

By using the latest version of our widgets and reviewing attribution data in the right places, youโ€™ll always know which ads and landing pages are generating the best leads.
