Overview

No setup required- LeadTruffle automatically tracks attribution data for you. As long as you’ve installed one of our supported widgets (Chat Widget, Pop-Up, or the JavaScript Lead Form), all lead source and page context data will be captured automatically.

This includes ad click IDs (like gclid and fbclid), UTMs, submission page URLs, and referrers. Everything is viewable inside LeadTruffle and easy to send to your CRM or other tools via Zapier or API.

Widgets That Support Tracking

LeadTruffle has three types of lead capture widgets:

  1. Chat Widget – Corner popup that initiates a live AI conversation

  2. Pop-Up Widget – Timed, scroll-based, or exit-intent modal

  3. Lead Form Widget:

    • JavaScript version – Includes full tracking support

    • Iframe version (legacy)Does not support tracking

For best results, use the JavaScript version of the Lead Form.

What Tracking Data We Capture

1) Ad Platform Tracking

When a lead submits their information, we automatically capture available tracking data from major ad platforms. This includes:

  1. Google Ads: gclid, utm_source, utm_medium, etc.

  2. Facebook Ads: fbclid

  3. Microsoft Ads: msclkid

  4. TikTok Ads: ttclid

  5. Snapchat Ads: snapcid

2) Page Context

LeadTruffle also logs:

  • Page Title – The page where the submission occurred

  • Submission URL – Includes full UTM parameters

  • Referrer URL – Where the visitor came from before landing on your site

3) Website Session Tracking

In addition to ad and page context data, LeadTruffle tracks total website sessions - giving you visibility into how many visitors are landing on your site, regardless of form submission.

  • Sessions are automatically counted when any LeadTruffle widget is present on your site

  • Tracked data includes total page hits per day

  • This is visualized on your Dashboard as a green traffic trend graph

Use this data to understand traffic volume patterns and evaluate how campaigns are driving overall interest - even when users don’t submit their info.

This gives you end-to-end visibility into both the traffic source and the submission location.

Where to View Attribution Data in LeadTruffle

You can view all this attribution and page context data in two main areas of the platform:

1. Web Session Trends on the Dashboard

  2. You’ll see a green line graph showing daily website hits over time.
