Overview
LeadTruffle’s Web Chat is currently in beta (as of February 2026). It gives you a traditional website chat experience powered by your AI Lead Qualifier.
Unlike Website Texting (SMS-first), Web Chat keeps the conversation directly on your website.
It’s ideal if you want:
A native website chat experience
AI-powered qualification
Optional appointment booking
Email follow-ups (if captured)
How Web Chat Works
1. The Widget Experience
The Web Chat widget:
Appears as a chat popup (similar to Website Texting)
Typically positioned in the bottom-right corner
Starts with a welcome message (customizable)
Once a visitor clicks the widget:
They enter required contact info
Then the AI conversation begins
2. What Information Gets Captured
By default, Web Chat can capture:
Name
Email
Phone number
Address (optional)
You can customize which fields are required.
Why We Capture This First
If a lead drops off mid-conversation, you don’t lose them
Email allows follow-up automation
Phone gives your team direct contact ability
⚠️ Important:
Web Chat does not trigger SMS follow-ups automatically (SMS compliance does not apply to this widget).
However, email follow-ups can be triggered if email is collected.
3. AI Conversation Flow
After submitting contact info:
The visitor enters a live chat experience
The AI responds using your configured AI Agent settings
It asks clarifying questions
It moves the lead through your qualification funnel
This uses the same AI configuration as your Website Texting AI.
To edit it:
Go to AI Agent
Adjust instructions, company description, or qualification flow
Run a demo chat to test responses
4. Booking Appointments Through Web Chat
If booking is enabled:
Go to AI Agent
Toggle Booking On
When a lead asks for availability:
The AI presents available times
The lead selects a time
They confirm details (day, time, email, notes)
They click submit to finalize
The appointment is then:
Booked directly on your connected calendar
Saved inside LeadTruffle
👉 Current Version Note:
In this version, the lead confirms by clicking submit. Future versions may auto-confirm directly inside chat.
5. Managing Web Chat Leads
Inside your dashboard, you can:
View full conversation history
See all captured details
Call the lead (if phone was submitted)
Take over the conversation manually
Add notes or update status
You maintain full control at any time.
Installing Your Widget
You have two primary widget options in LeadTruffle:
Web Chat (Beta)
Best for a traditional website chat experience.
Installation steps are similar:
Copy the Web Chat code snippet
Paste into your website’s custom code section
Publish your site
The widget will automatically appear on your website.
